The best time to go is summer, when the Southern Ocean loses some of its bite, but avoid public holidays, when holiday park prices spike and you can get caught out paying $100 per night for a site
To view the saved map on your smartphone or PC, open Google Maps, click the menu button, and go to ‘Your Places’/’Maps’. These are the best stops along the Great Ocean Road (listed in order of the way you pass them if driving from Melbourne): 1. Torquay. NICE TO SEE.
1. Drive Along the Great Ocean Road. Checking out the view of Bells Beach from the lookout. Dogs are permitted to join you in a vehicle driving along the length of the Great Ocean Road, even when the highway passes through areas of national park. This often includes stopping at lookouts along the way. Probably one of my favourite sunset spots on the Great Ocean Road, Point Addis is a protected marine national park just south of Torquay. The beautiful point is known for its crumbling cliffs, surf breaks and spectacular views of the surf coast in both directions. There is a short boardwalk and and viewing platform at the very end of the point.
